Subhashini Ayloo

"I first met Dr. Ayloo when I wanted to have the Roux-en-Y surgery. For a lot of reasons, she felt I wasn't a good candidate for that, but suggested the LapBand. She is very thorough and direct and doesn't leave you wondering about anything. Dr. Ayloo is a very small person, like me, but when you see her hands, they're the hands of a surgeon! She is a very kind person, but is very direct when talking with you. Although she's short like me, she seems like she's 6 feet tall when she enters a room---she has a large presence! Her staff is great and very competent over at University of Illinois. Whenever you go there, you always see Dr. Ayloo, an intern, the Nurse Practitioner and the Registered Dietician before you leave. When the LapBand did not work for me, she was very direct about me not having the RNY because of my low BMI and age. She felt the Sleeve Gastrectomy would be better for me---and it has been. Dr. Ayloo's overall manner is one of great confidence, competence and caring. She gives you the feeling that she really cares about you and your progress. The aftercare program at University of Illinois is a very thorough one with a large, competent staff."

University of Illinois

"Everything was fine, but the nurses on the floor didn't seem very knowledgeable about LapBand surgery."
