I GUESS SOME VETS are PERFECT?! HELP DON'T HURT!

I am never disappointed by these "vets are meanies" posts - it's great fun to go through posts and find the incidents where people were treated so appallingly, only to discover that it is the "newbie" who copped the attitude.  The one where Lora is asked for her qualifications was a classic

Anyway, here's to the next vet bashing thread - in 2 or 3 months if I'm not mistaken - cheers

I think the last occasion of vet hating was started by Amber.   I haven't seen her posting lately.

The true idiots don't hang around very long. What was that freakshow's name in the old R&R, scribbler or something? She was around for about a day before going supernova. And probably on FB now whining about regain.

Oh yes, Scribbler.  Imploded when people disagreed with her interpretation of what this forum should be.  She still shows up on my friends list but hasn't posted in ages.

I think SparkleKitty should start a study on the amount of time it takes for someone to disappear from OH, beginning from the date they start on their "vets are big meaniepants" rants.   She could correlate it to the date that they create an account on OH, as it's a very good predictor of how convinced they are that everyone should act according to how they want to be treated.  I'll give the post ops some slack since they're probably going through hormone dumping (as Scribbler obviously was), but the preops should be a little more cir****pect.  Many of them "think" they know everything that's going to happen after surgery, but it can be very different that what you envision.  It's best to keep an open mind, listen to those who are further down the road than you and be a little humble.  You might learn something.

Honestly, I would LOVE to try something like that if it were easy to pull the data. Bonus points if I can get extra variables like gender, age, self-pay vs. insurance, that sort of thing. I could get the important stuff (surgery date, date joining OH, and post text) by hand if I really felt like it, but that's a LOT of manual data labor. Plus, coding out qualitative data is a royal pain, so flagging every post as "frustrated with surgeon," "can't poop," "NSV," etc. would take AGES, even if you listed out all of your potential themes in advance.

But yeah, this data-nerd would TOTALLY do it if the numbers were handy.

Bless your heart....

This is internet. You need to learn to take the good and ignore the rest.

I think it's super important to be honest about our bad decisions! I feel like it helps us grow and learn. Some people are extremely rude about it. Not everyone is perfect! We all have our moments. I think admitting our problems and struggles helps others! Tough love and rudeness/belittling are two TOTALLY different things. Being honest about our bad choices can be helpful because a lot of people here have awesome advice to help you kick some of the bad habits.

I know I am Perfect!!!  Yeah me!!! I eat perfectly, I weight the optimum weight for my height and I am a ******g genius. lol  Now why did I allow myself to get so ******g fat I needed wls and waste 20 years of my life????  Hmmm maybe not so perfect after all.  Take the vets who still hang out here daily comments with a grain of salt, most people move on past the messageboard to real life, if someone is posting all day every day, makes you wonder about their "real" lives.  I try to post when I can to keep the balance about what is "real" about wls, and not the fake b/s you will hear from most people.
