Good morning.  Grossing me out?  Not sure this qualifies, but my favorite Light and Fit greek yogurt flavors pre-RNY were Vanilla, Coconut and Key Lime.  My wife stocked up after surgery.  I could not stand the taste of those flavors post surgery.  Tossed them all, as my wife wasn't a fan to start with on those.  Thankfully banana strawberry and peach taste good to me.  But its weird that those original favorite flavors make me cringe a little.

B - last of the Chinese Omelette (tossed out about 1/3 of the remaining dish as I'm getting tired of it)

L - 3 oz Smoked brisket and some left over veggies from dinner (stir fry zucchini)

D - Smoked salmon omelette (I'll take 3 oz smoked salmon and mix with 3 eggs and make 2 meals out of it).  Maybe if my carbs look okay - I'll take one of my puffy crackers - 15 calorie rice cake with some laughing cow cheese.  If not, I toss the cow cheese into the omelette

S - premier protein shake

Good morning!

Our new mattress is all set up and we slept on it for the first time last night. So comfy. But wow that thing is tall.

Happy Birthday to your mama! My mom's birthday is tomorrow!

I don't know yet on the QOTD since it's only been 12 days. I'm going to try a different brand of protein shake though as the premier protein sure didn't cut it. Having said that, I may try it blended with ice and maybe a bit of cocoa powder. I read somewhere that helps to cut the sweetness.

I don't know what's on the menu today. Yogurt and unflavoured protein powder with sugar free raspberry jam for sure. A poached egg. Probably soup.

On another note - and my head knows this won't last but it is frustrating- How does one gain weight on 500 calories a day?? Sunday I was 267.3, yesterday 267.7 and today 267.9?

My HW is 294.6, surgery weight 281.3 so I'm still very happy where I'm at less than 2 weeks post-op.

Argh...that scale!! Well, I weighed daily for the first week after surgery per dr's orders (to make sure there weren't any issues) and then also per his orders only weighed once a week after that. There were times I asked hubby to hide the scale. Keep at it!

Don't panic! No way you are gaining at 500 cals... Watch the salt in take in the soups, drink drink drink, and keep at it...you will see a big dip soon :)

I know it's really frustrating, but I did the same thing at around the same time after surgery.  In my head, I was sure I was the ONE person on earth that surgery wouldn't work for.  Seriously.  But, obviously it did.

For me, my body started to really hold on desperately to water.  Not sure why.  I think I was using a lot of broth (high in salt) and perhaps I wasn't getting enough water.  I really needed closer to 100 oz. than 65 oz. in the first few months.  Protein and obesity powers through our water supply -- and often times, just upping my fluids (that aren't salty) would make me release a lot of water.

In any case, please don't fret.  You're doing great!

Ugh that's the worst feeling so early out! But it will pass. But then it will happen again Hahahah. My advice is to learn to make peace with the scale. You know you're on plan. It will move. So many things affect our weight on a daily basis, calories are just one.

as for the premiere, I struggled at first with the sweetness too. I kept them in the freezer and drank them at an almost slush consistency to cut the sweetness the first couple of weeks. And as with opti, adding cocoa or decaf instant coffee really helps with that too!

Good Morning Everyone,

QOTD: I can't the of any food that grosses me out really. I have food fear now that I'd never had before that for certain. I always had a sweet tooth, always having a huge mug of fat free frozen yogurt every night pre-surgery. Boy could I pack a lot in to a mug.. and the mugs just got bigger and bigger. I loved just about any sweet food you could give me! Now, I have NO temptation, seriously none. The thought of dumping has scared me and by eating the way I am, even too much truvia in something doesn't taste good. It certainly doesn't gross me out but I'm also not tempted in anyway to see if I dum*****t. I figure it I do dump on sweets it will be  a miserable experience and if I don't it opens this giant door I don't want to have to deal with...
