What are the benefits of eating Almonds after VSG surgery?

Most people keep these for a maintenace option, as they can add a lot of calories with a small amount. I did eat them during the weight loss phase, but carefully measured them out in 100 calorie portions. There are health benefits to eating them so long as you are very mindful about the high calories. I additionally make my own almond milk out of them, as it is both cost effective/tastier and I can avoid the chemicals added to store bought varieties. I purchase them from Trader Joe, as they are not "gassed" leaving a chemical residue on them that may or may not be a carcinigon. (spelling, sorry)

As snacks go, they are healthy. But you can eat about 10,000 calories of nuts in a day, and you won't ever feel full.

If you can stick to a measured 100 calories, go for it. But if you can't, it's bes to avoid them.

Amen to what Grim said.  As usual, he's right on!  I got hooked on one pound bags.  Had to stop buying them.

They are certainly beneficial if you lose too much weight and want to start gaining.

I don't eat them on a regular basis because they are a slider food for me. I do have a bag of dark cocoa roasted almonds that I keep for when I'm craving chocolate. I also keep them in my car for when I'm traveling and need an easy pick-me-up.

I was at Trader Joes one time, and resisted the temptation to buy a container of peanutbutter cups. I got cashews instead. Turns out the peanutbutter cups were 1600 calories, and the cashews were 2800 calories. Healthiness aside, you could gain a lot of weight eating cashews. I could have finished that bag in a day, easily.

This is why I stay away from nuts!  (Har har!). I can eat a whole bag of pistachios in a day, they are my favorite. Also really like pecans and cashews. Almonds are my least favorite, which is why they end up hanging around so long LOL.

I could have a bag of walnuts or almonds around for 6 months before I'd finish them. But peanuts or cashews would be gone before the day was over.

My husband buys a large container of mixed nuts from Costco.  I find myself picking out the cashews and macadamias and eating them.  Bad bad bad bad bad
