I was shopping at Walmart yesterday and came across Tyson "Lightly Breaded" Chicken Tenders. I didn't pick them up, but I thought the nutrition on them wasn't so bad:
Serving Size: 3 OZ. (84g)
Servings Per Container: About 8

Love this feeling. I went to DXL, which is a "big guys'" store, and I bought some shirts in a size smaller than what I've been wearing. I love them, and they feel so nice.
I'll be especially happy when I can shop in normal clothing stores; I'm

Since I'm able to start progressing to more normal foods, I've been trying some gastric bypass-friendly recipes. I made a creamy Italian chicken tonight, and it was amazing.
I love trying different things, especially since they're are healthy,

My grandma and I went out shopping today, and I know she likes to eat out when she shops, so I planned on going to Applebee's. I got the fire-grilled chicken breast with a side of veggies. I had a few bites of chicken and got so full. The chicken was a

My college requires me to purchase a MacBook, so I've been deciding between a 13" Air or 13" Pro w/Retina display. I purchased the Air and really enjoyed it, but I read a lot of reviews about the Pro and its display. I decided to bite the bullet and up

I'm about five weeks post-op, and many are noticing my weight loss. I sing at my church, and the organist asked me as I was leaving "So, how much have you lost?" I told her, and she was like "I'm so happy for you. You look wonderful." She never fails t

So, I have been excited to try Wendy's chili, but I have a feeling it doesn't agree with me.
Whenever I eat it, I take really small spoonfuls and chew really well so that it's puréed. After a couple bites, I get a discomfort in my pouch, and I

I'm four weeks out tomorrow, and today was my first vomiting experience (at work, to boot!)
I think what happened is I drank my protein shake too fast. I only vomited a tiny amount, and it was clear/whitish (the color of my protein shake). I f

Hey, all,
My grandma's party is going well. I had one meatball and am stuffed. I'm enjoying the company and not really missing the food. Woohoo!

Family is getting my favorite pizza for dinner tonight. I just have to enjoy my ricotta bake. Woohoo!

Had a dream I was eating a piece of pizza, and then I said, "Oh no, I'm going to blow my pouch out!" Then I woke up in a cold sweat.
Thank God it was just a dream.

My family is having a surprise 75th birthday party for my grandma, and this is my first "food" event since my surgery. I begin the "soft food phase" on Saturday, the day of the party, so I'm wondering what I could really eat. I'm allowed to eat ground

It's time to go back to work tomorrow since my surgery. I'm a little anxious but also excited to get back into a routine.
When you went back to work, were you exhausted by the end of the day? I think this is what is going to happen to me.

About ten years ago, my cousin had the gastric bypass. Now, she is almost as heavy as she was before the surgery.
My question is: how does one regain all of his or her weight after the surgery? In the years following her surgery, my cousin has

I was thinking about how I ate before my bypass, and it's crazy to think how I ate food like it was going out of style.
I used to be able to eat a sub, fries, six slices of pizza, and three cans of Coke in one sitting. Now, I have one scramble

My NUT recommends chewable vitamins for new post-op patients. She also recommends that we take bariatric-formulated chewables because regular vitamins might not absorb as well.
What do you guys take? Since I'm only two weeks out, I ordered a fe

Had my post-op visit with my PCP, and I'm down 40 lbs. total! I can't believe it! Woohoo!
I feel great. I can't wait to see where I go with this surgery!

I just had my first Premeir Protein shake - the vanilla one - and it was really good! I'm really full, though. These are going to be a good breakfast whenever I go back to work next week.

Tomorrow begins my two weeks of puréed foods. Not going to lie, I'm kind of excited to eat some food - albeit puréed.
What did you eat during your puréed stage? I'm thinking of doing that ricotta bake and making a decent serving so that I can s

I told my boss that I wasn't sure when my return will be, but I think I'm going back to work on Monday, July 25th. I feel great, TBH, and I don't think I need more than three weeks off. I'm sick of watching daytime TV!

Had my first post-op visit with my surgeon, and he said everything looks great. I lost 12 lbs from surgery to now, so I'm very happy about that.
Pureed food stage begins on Saturday, and vitamins will begin next Wednesday. Let's do this!

My soreness is gradually getting better and better with each passing day. I feel really good lying in bed. I also can walk with normal posture and not like an old man with a hunchback.
I keep thinking about this time last week when I was lying

Can't believe tomorrow will make it a week since my surgery. I have to say that my pain is a lot better, and I'm able to sleep in my bed on my left and right sides. I HATED sleeping on my back in the hospital. I am not a "back" sleeper.

Since this is my first day at home, I'm really trying to do this right and get all my necessary liquids in. Would tracking the liquids be a good idea?
What did you do for your liquids stage (and even after your liquids stage)?

My surgeon said my labs were normal today, so he's sending me home. I have to get some lab work done on Tuesday and see him on Wednesday for my first post-op visit. So excited that I get to finally go home.
