Happy Thanksgiving Week,

For you newbies out there......PLEASE do NOT stress over the holiday's.   Remember your portion control......remember protein first...then veggies then desserts if you have room.    Thanksgiving day is ONE DAY and you don't have to get all stressed out over it.   Let me make some suggestions to you.....if leftovers are a challenge.......Have your guests take some of your leftovers home with them and only keep enough for maybe one meal for your family who lives in your home.    If you don't do that freeze them and eat them at a later date.   Make this holiday season one of the best of your lives.    After all....you are beginning your life again as a healthier...smaller person.   DO NOT let anyone jepordize your successful weight loss this season.   Have a Happy Thanksgiving !!!

 Good Morning OH Friends,

Not much going on in my life right now.   I've been planning our vacation ( we're going in Nov. ).   We are going to go to Las Vegas for 3 days.   I am NOT a gambler to say the least but my hubby likes it.   I like to walk around ALOT and look at the hotels and go to a few shows.    Hope it will be fun.    On the weight issues....I'm still working on getting a re-gain off.   I guess a 20+ lb. re-gain isn't too bad for being almost 7 yrs. post op and all the stress that I have lived under for over 5 yrs.    I am only up about 2 lbs. from my weight 2 yrs. ago.   You " really" have to be aware once your post op of everything you put in your mouth or re-gain can happen before you know it.     Still all in all I thank God everyday for my WLS.    Have a blessed weekend everyone.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

I thought i should jump on my profile and update it.   It's been awhile.   Life is sure passing us ( or me LOL ) by lately.    Maybe today I will be a grandmother.   My DIL  was due on monday and it is now friday.    Can't wait for my granddaughter to be born.   This is a very exciting time in our lives.    I'm sure she will wait till sunday since my sunday is jammed pack with things.    I have church and then my support group meeting that afternoon.   Babies seem to have a mind of their own as far as when they will be born.   If you don't know.....this will be our FIRST grandchild and we are beyond excited to say the very least.   Remember to take ALL your vitamins and get in all your protein EVERYDAY....that is your lifeline to health.    Have a blessed day !!!

I had NO idea that it has been about 6 month since my last post.   I am SO sorry everyone following me.   My 26 yr. old son in Teen Challenge has been home 2 weeks in a couple of days.    I wish I could say life is wonderful...but it's not.   He is home because of tightness in his chest and heart papaltations.    I found out last tuesday night that at the Teen Challenge where he has been for 4 months is FULL of black mold everywhere.    It makes me sick.   I went to Teen Challenge in Azle ( where he originally was ) last tuesday night and 2 of the men who transferred from SA told me to look up black mold and it's affects.   They said that TCSA had black mold.   Low and behold there were my son's symptoms.   He has been in the ER ( 4 different hospitals ) 4 times in the past 3 weeks.    He passed out the other day getting out of a car and hit the pavement.    He now has a concussion, and brusied ribs in addition to the heart papaltaions and tightness in chest.   Oh I almost forgot...he was also told tha this kidneys were not functioniong properly.    I'm really very sick about all this.   He did get engaged since he's been home to a precious young lady that he met through another student in TC.    Please keep him in your prayers.   He is 8 weeks from graduating the program....not sure if that will happen with his issues and the mold situation there.    I know that GOD has totally changed him in the past 10 months and he is 100 % free of his 13 yr. drug addiction and 6 yr. heron addiction.   Thanks to God and Teen Challenge for that.

Oh my goodness....I had NO idea I have not updated my profile in such a long time.    WOW I guess I will summerize what has happened in my life in 2011.    This has been a very trying and difficult year in my life and I am VERY excited to see all the wonderul blessings that 2012 will bring.     In May my 29 yr. old son married ( he is 30 now ).    In July my middle son who has been a drug addict since his teen years decided he wanted to meet his birth mom  ( he and my oldest son were both adopted by us  as infants but not from the same birth parents ).    We went private adoption and I knew is birth mom's aunt so I went over to her house and arranged the meeting.     To say the least....I did NOT go well at all.   She told him she did herion the entire time that she carried him.   Herion was his drug of choice although I don't think there was any drug that he didn't try.    We had been trying to get him into Teen Challenge ( it is a program for men and woman who are 18-65 yrs. old that has substance abuse and it is a faith based program ) for over 3 yrs.    2 days after meeting her he came to us and told us he was ready for a life change and wanted to go to Teen Challenge.     He was STILL using herion and was now in my home since his life and had not been going good and he had been evicted from his apartment.    I watched him as he came down and had horrible withdrawls from the drugs that were robbing him of his life.    We had all the tests done that were required of him in order to enter into Teen Challenge.    He entered into the program on Aug. 9th and today my son is a totally different person.    God has totally healed him of his drug addiction.   He is STILL in Teen Challenge and will be till August 2012.   My first grandchild is due late July - early August.    SO this summer will be very exciting for my family.    God has been so good to my family this year.    But this coming year will be AMAZING !!!  I wish all of you a amazing New Year.     Please keep my family in my prayers if you believe in praying.     Life is good and remember to work that TOOL  that you have gotten or will be getting.   Have a blessed New Year.

Oh my ....where has summer gone.   Not that I am sad to see it go....trust me that isn't the case in the least.   This has been the hottest summer ( or at least this is the FIRST summer I haven't froze since my WLS. ).    If you have just had WLS....be ready to freeze.    That seems to happen for quite sometimes after your surgery.    The freezing is caused by the rapid WL that your body is experiencing.    This is the first summer that I have actually gotten to feel really warm in almost 6 yrs.    WOW how time flies...seems like it has been maybe a year since I had my RNY not almost 6 yrs.    If you are sitting on the fence as far as trying to decide whether to have surgery or not.....JUST DO IT !!!!  I have NEVER ever regretted my decision to have surgery.    And if your family doesn't support your decision.....don't feel alone.    My family told me when I started looking into WLS that if I had it done I would die or be very sorry I had it.    Neither came true.    Just the opposite.   My family now is very proud of the decision that I made and of the weight that I have lost and maintained.    I wish everyone luck in your WLS journeys.    I am so happy with my decision.    Have a blessed week.
