Let's see...I am not sure where to start. 
I am 39 yrs old and committed to a relationship with the most wonderful man on earth who met me the way I look and, who just like my family, does not care about anything other than my internal beauty. However, I have been battling weight issues for nearly 20 years now and feel it is time to do something permanently about it after trying every and all diets out in the market.
Back in 2005 I went through the whole process for the WLS and my insurance gave the pre-approval. However, my then general physician did not want to give me the release letter and that put a halt into the process. At the moment, I felt dissapointed but somehow also happy as for some reason I guess it was not meant to happen. Additionally, my mother and my boyfriend were both extremely happy about it, not because of the denial but because of their fear of something happening to me as a result of it. Despite our mother's concern, my brother had WLS done in May 2007 and all I can say is that I am extremely proud of him for having done so. He has been my motivation. He lost a total of 103 lbs and seeing the new him has been like the last push I needed to make that final decision and try doing it again because I know that his support will definitely be there for me. It makes a huge difference to have someone so close who understands what you go through in order to actually make the best of this journey to a new self.
Luckily my insurance will cover it, needless to say that I got rid of my previous physician and the one I have now does approve of WLS. He put me on a supervised diet back in Nov. '07 - that in itself will make a difference when it comes to submitting final paperwork to the insurance. Let's see!!! In summary, I am looking forward to this, mainly because I know that healthwise this will be the best decision for me to have ever made in my life. God Bless!!
